Had a sponsee who was a devout Roman Catholic, and when she was going to mass, she would say, "I will say a prayer and light a candle for you." At first she said, "Do you want me to say a prayer for you?" I said, "You can if you want, but I have a direct line." It makes me sad, she got a year sober, but would never give up her prescription drugs, and it is hard to share and get honesty from someone who is stoned and still using. In the last 10 days I have seen her with her twice with her husband at the bar. She is skin on bone and he is now in a skooter. But for the grace of God, there go I. She carries a great message to me when I see her.
