I was the opposite, my husband wouldn't buy because it was beer money. If I got new clothes my aunt or my sister made them. I looked older at 40 when we broke up than I did at 50 at a year sober. A friend in treatment looked at a dart picture of me and said, "I don't think I would have liked to have been your friend back then." This person who didn't think she was an alcoholic. mj
