Default Paid in Full

Paid in Full by Victoria Osteen

One day a while back, Joel and I were out at a restaurant. We had finished our meal and were sitting there talking. It seemed like it was taking a long time to get our bill, but we just sat there and continued our conversation. We kept waiting and waiting but we had to leave, so we called our waiter over and asked him for the check. He said, "Oh, you are free to go. The man at the corner table paid your bill." We didn't know it, but someone covered our debt!

Today, in case you didn't know, I want to inform you that someone has covered your debt in this life. Someone made it possible for you to be free! Someone paved the way so that you could have abundant life here on this earth and throughout eternity.

Jesus Himself paid your bill on the cross two thousand years ago. Because of what He did, you can be totally free. You don't have to work to earn salvation; you don't have to strive to pay your debt. Jesus has already covered it.

There's an old saying that goes, "I had a debt I could not pay. He paid a debt He didn't not owe." When you really stop and think about it, there's no way we could ever be able to pay our debt to Almighty God. We can never possibly be good enough to earn His love. We can never work hard enough to erase our sins. But God so loved us that He gave us His only Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Today, know that God loves you with an everlasting love. He's not waiting for you to clean up to come to Him. He's not waiting for you to be good enough to earn His approval. No, He's waiting with arms outstretched, ready to receive you when you make the choice to call on His name. Receive His love today, receive His grace, and receive the gift of Jesus Christ because your debt is paid in full!

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:36, ESV)
