Like the thought, for so many years, I felt like I had to justify and rationalize my reason for being.
I don't have to prove anything. The people who knew me 22 years ago, can see the difference. When people see me, they don't see the pain. They see a person who has healed from that hopeless state of mind and body. I can still go back to that old way of thinking, sick and tired of being tired and sick. The difference in today is that I don't have to stay there. I can pray and pick up the tools of recovery. |
There are four common categories of toxic thoughts. These are negative, fearful, discontented,
and critical. Chances are you are struggling with toxic thoughts in one or more of these four ways. Don't let these toxic thoughts grab hold of you and consume you. The deeper you let them take root inside you, the harder they will be to shake off. Identify those thoughts and reject them today. The steps and working with a sponsor are the answer to helping me with these categories of toxic thoughts and negativity in my life. W.O.W:170:101 |
Thank you, Lord, for giving me the strength that comes
only from the power of serving you. without you I am powerless. When I am weak then I am strong. I rest in all you can and will do in me. Lead me to those who are weak today so I might serve with your strength. Amen:195: W.O.W:170:101 |
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
the same understanding Father Who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day. He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations. W.O.W:170:101 |
The Attitude of Gratitude can raise your Altitude.
Being Thankful is a magical way to reach the Top. If I feel like I've done the best that I can or conducted myself in the most constructive way that I can in a situation, then I feel peace. W.O.W:170:101 |
Give yourself time.
Take all the time you need. Emotional healing is a process; don’t rush yourself through it. Don’t let others force you through it either. Moving on doesn't take a day; it takes lots of little steps to be able to break free of your broken past and your wounded self. Take today breath by breath, one step at a time. Never let trouble from the past make you feel like you have a bad life now. Just because yesterday was painful doesn't mean today will be too. Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us. Today you have a choice to explore these parts of yourself. Give yourself the needed time and permission to explore and heal. W.O.W:170:101 |
A wise man once said, “Every new beginning comes
from some other beginning’s end.” Today is a new beginning; treat it that way. Stop thinking about what might have been and. starting looking at what can be. Say to yourself: “Dear Past, thank you for all the life lessons you have taught me. Dear Future, I am ready now!” Because a great beginning always occurs at the exact moment you thought would be the end of everything. One day at a time. W.O.W:170:101 |
Surrendering your life means:
Following God's lead without knowing where he's sending you; Waiting for God's timing without knowing when it will come; Expecting a miracle without knowing how God will provide; Trusting God's purpose without understanding the circumstances. You know you're surrendered to God when you rely on God to work things out instead of trying to manipulate others, force your agenda, and control the situation. You let go and let God work. You don't have to always be in charge. Instead of trying harder, you trust more. W.O.W:170:101 |
Faith is not feelings.“Faith isn't the ability
to believe long and far into the misty future. It’s simply taking God at His word and taking the next step.” W.O.W:170:101 |
Don't internalize the toxic words that others speak about you.
Instead, guard your heart against toxic words, and every chance you get, speak life-giving words. W.O.W:170:101 |
Being able to remain in a peaceful, calm state,
regardless of whatever drama or turmoil is going on around us, is the most important step forward we can endeavor to take towards bringing peace to the rest of the world. After all, the world we see around us, is a reflection or our inner world. W.O.W:170:101 |
Today you have the opportunity to enrich your life.
You can choose to just get through the day, or you can choose to make today count. Start by counting your blessings. Appreciate the people in your life. Be thankful for the experiences you've had, and the things you have learned. And if there is someone you've neglected to say "thank you" to, today would be a great day to do it. W.O.W:170:101 |
Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain, Continue in thanksgiving Do not begin to blame, Even when the times are hard Fierce winds are bound to blow God is forever able, Keep thanking Him for all the things. W.O.W:170:101 |
Thank you, Father, for assurance that you are good to all.
Forgive me for wanting to limit the size and qualities of the group. Change me, Lord, that I may be good as you are good. May I feed others as you have fed me and be the blessing you have called me to be. Amen:195: January, 27th I celebrated my 60th birthday and it's only through God grace I am clean and sober today. I am a product of the late 60's,70's and 80's, and that was the era of sex, drugs and rock n roll for me. I was a hard rock guitar player during the 70's and that was some real crazy times for me, I'm sure some of you can identify. I didn't think I would live pass my 30's. I was doing a vast amounts of drugs and alcohol which would have killed the so called normal person a doctor once told me. I'm saying all of this because, I'm so grateful to God, The rooms of A.A. N.A. my sponsor, and my wonderful Daily Recovery Reading Page Family for helping me stay sober one more day. God Blessings to you all:169: if God permits I'll be celebrating my 26th anniversary on July 13th:13: W.O.W:170:101 |
Remind me each day of the fable of the hare and the
tortoise, that I may know that the race is not always to the swift---that there is more to life than increasing its speed. Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well. Slow me down, Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life's enduring values that I may grow toward the stars of my greater destiny. Amen:195: W.O.W:170:101 |
