OVERLOOK WRONGS

If we want to be a godly influence to others we need to overlook wrongs. We all make mistakes. We all have problems. We all have things that may cause us to do things we shouldn't have. When we choose to keep thinking about the wrongs of others and keep talking about it, things can get out of hand. They can get out of hand quickly. However, if we choose to show love, forgive and move on, we are setting a godly influence to others and gaining their respect.

Proverbs 19:11 "Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs." (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to act righteously when we are wronged. Help us remember we are to respond as Jesus did when He was wronged. Help us to control our temper so we can earn respect and make an impact on others. Help us to show love, Your love, so others can see Jesus in us. It is hard to overlook wrongs when we focus on us; however, it is much easier to overlook wrongs when we focus on You. Show us Your way today, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

If we want to be a godly influence to others we need to overlook wrongs.

Those who love God know He has overlooked our wrongs when we decided to follow Him. We should teach others the same.

When we allow ourselves to get angry when others do wrong, we are not going to positively influence them.

If we take more time to get to know those who seem to be doing wrong, we can share God's love with them.

If we fill our hearts with God's love, it will be easier to overlook the wrongdoings of others and to show love.

Proverbs 10:12 "Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses." (NLT)

Focus: When we repent, God overlooks our wrongs and forgives us. We are to do the same for others.
